All associations hope for a robust future of serving their members and their professions.
Our research has indicated that associations would more likely continue to have continued success if their members were:
- significantly affected by legislation or regulation;
- personally and emotionally attached to a human cause;
- dependent upon certification or another form of credential to earn a living; or
- joined together to balance or negotiate with a countervailing economic interest.
We also observed that associations without any of these business lines would find it more difficult to provide meaningful value in an age of increased automation, near universal connectivity, artificial intelligence and molecular manipulation.
